Mental health stigma, needs to go! Our mental health is UTMOST Important!
Taking care of your mind, is equally as important, as taking care of your entire physical body. Quite often, people see the mind as a completely separate entity, from the body. Because the mind is not tangible, doesn’t mean, it doesn’t play a very crucial role in your health and well-being. I think, the fact that you can’t see your mind, is perhaps the most important reason of all, why we need to keep check. You can see a cut on your finger, or an internal scar from a surgery (via scans) but not the mind... So why not keep checks!
The mind is not to be treated separately! The stigma around mental health needs to go. People should not feel afraid to speak about, how they are feeling, and why. People should not feel, they can’t speak aloud about the state of their mental health, in the same way, they can speak about a headache or diabetes etc.
Mental health is important, DO NOT be afraid to use your voice, because of those who will call you crazy! Because the opposite is true! Those who discriminate against mental health, are appearing ignorant, crazy and sad. And also causing those who want to speak out, about their mental health issues, to suppress their voice - making them even more mentally ill.
Let’s be mentally aware, find our voices and help those, who have either lost their voices and or the will-power to get help! Getting help is fundamental, before they lose their selves in its entirety, whilst still being in existence. What could be worst!!!
We can help, so let’s help the way we can! This is never easy, but if we can’t do something, then let’s listen, because listening is powerful, therapeutic and healing to those who need to speak out, but struggling to do so. And if you aren’t able to listening, advice and support, then please let’s continue to do the one thing we do best, always and above all, PRAY selflessly!
